The government is setting out a series of actions in England to protect precious habitats and species on land.

This includes the Trees Action Plan, Peat Action Plan, some announcements on species reintroductions and amendments to the Environment Bill including an additional legally binding target for species abundance for 2030.

This will demonstrate how the government is investing in nature, as called for by the Dasgupta Review on the Economics of Biodiversity and as promised in the government’s recent Integrated Review. These actions will contribute to our wider environmental goals as set out in the 25 Year Environment Plan and to achieving Net Zero by 2050.
