The NDA appreciates the work of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and National Audit Office (NAO). We value their reports and recommendations and seek to act upon these in a timely manner.
In connection with this a paper was recently submitted to the PAC and NAO in response to recommendations previously made by the PAC. A number of these recommendations come from the 2020 review of the NDA’s management of the former Magnox contract. The other recommendations come from two hearings in 2018 regarding Magnox and Sellafield and which required the conclusion of the independent Magnox Inquiry report (published in March 2021) before these could be fully concluded.
The responses in this paper close out all but one of the current recommendations from the PAC, with the final recommendation being on track to be closed out by Spring 2022.
