The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Suez Recycling and Recovery North East Ltd.

Variation to existing ‘Household non-hazardous waste’ amenity site to allow acceptance of hazardous wastes of batteries and household chemicals and extra non-haz wastes of construction and demolition wastes including wood.
No change in annual throughput (4,999Tpa) or amount of non-haz stored at any one time (200T). No more than 50T of haz stored.
