The research project looked at 3 groups of headteachers who:
- participated in an accelerated leadership development programme
- achieved headship before 35 years old (primary) or 40 years old (secondary)
- pursued another career before working in schools and achieving headship
The research looks into each group and:
- analyses their demography and size
- considers their route to becoming a headteacher
- explores their school leadership practices
