Thomas Drew is recognised for his outstanding contribution in some of the most challenging roles in the Diplomatic Service at home and abroad over the last 8 years. For 4 years in Pakistan, he led the UK’s largest mission overseas and in the UK, as a Director-General, he has led the FCDO’s work on the most acute and difficult international issues of recent years, including on COVID-19, Iran, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the threat from hostile states.

In addition to his contribution to business, he has made a sustained philanthropic contribution to the UK, especially to sport in Cornwall over 2 decades, making a major impact in the county of his birth, and demonstrating a strong, consistent and deep long-term personal commitment to this region of the UK.

Crawford Falconer is recognised for creating and leading a team for negotiating new trade deals across the world, using his vast experience in this field at a critical time in the UK’s history following the UK’s exit from the European Union. The team’s contribution has led to major achievements, including the new UK Global Tariff, multiple new Free Trade Agreements, UK membership of CPTPP, the UK’s autonomy at the World Trade Organisation and the G7 trade track.
