Details

We have published revised allocations for the newly qualified teachers grant for 2021 to 2022 for schools who had newly qualified teachers completing induction between summer 2021 and spring 2022.

Allocations

In June 2022, we published original allocations for the induction for newly qualified teachers during COVID-19 grant funding and payments were paid to schools directly or via local authorities in summer 2022.

In November 2023, we identified a number of schools requiring an amendment to their original allocation, which resulted in either an additional payment being made, or a clawback of payment action being taken.

We have notified those schools affected by these amendments. They can view their corrected grant funding allocations in the ‘additional funding for newly qualified teachers completing induction between summer 2021 and spring 2022’ spreadsheet published on this page.

Please note, this grant is now withdrawn, and we will not be undertaking any investigative work after 1 April 2024.

If you feel your school has meet the conditions of grant for a teacher who completed induction at your school between summer 2021 and spring 2022, then please contact us via continuing-professional-development@digital.education.gov.uk with the teacher reference number (TRN) for that teacher, as well as proof of employment at the time of induction at your school.
