Details

The Secretary of State has responded to Professor Malcolm Grant, Chair of the NHS Commissioning Board, to agree to his request for the NHS Commissioning Board to adopt the name ‘NHS England’.

The change of name is to ensure effective communications with the public in light of the prominent, public facing role that the NHS Commissioning Board is now taking on.

More detail is set out for the rationale in Professor Grant’s letter on the NHS Commissioning Board website.
