Details of the application
NNB Generation Company (SZC) Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
Two applications have been received; one to transfer the ownership of licence serial number 7/35/3/GS/75 from A W Mortier (Farms) Limited to NNB Generation Company (SZC) Ltd and one to vary the licence. The licence authorises the abstraction of water from a groundwater and surfacewater fed reservoir at Leison-cum-Sizewell, Suffolk.
The variation applied for is: to change the abstraction period to all year (currently the licence only allows abstraction from May to October). The applicant has also applied to update the abstraction point to National Grid Reference TM 46103 63721 and add the following abstraction purposes: Dust Suppression, Process Water and General Washing.
The abstraction lies within the Yox and Minsmere catchment and the East Suffolk Abstraction Licensing Strategy area.
