Details

Intervention offers of SMP within the EU reached the 218k tonne revised ceiling for fixed price buying in May 2016. Since then, the Commission switched to a tendering system for buying-in SMP.

The Council has acknowledged the dairy market position and agreed to further increase the revised ceiling for fixed price offers across the EU.

With effect from 29 June 2016, the ceiling has been increased to 350k Tonnes.

The existing tendering arrangements will end on 29 June 2016. Applications for buying in will revert to the usual method of submitting applications in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 1272/2009.
