Notice of Monetary Penalty in respect of British Safety Council
Ofqual has issued BSC with a notice requiring it to pay a fine of £5,000. Ofqual had previously given notice it intended fine BSC, following a settlement agreement.

Details
On 13 January 2023, British Safety Council informed Ofqual of its intention to surrender its status as an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation.
Ofqual notified BSC that it was unable to surrender its recognition until all outstanding regulatory matters had been resolved.
On 21 March 2025, those regulatory matters were resolved by the issuance of a notice of financial penalty.
Ofqual has now processed BSC’s application to surrender its recognition, which took effect from 21 March 2025.
