NTE 2023/04 : new General Trade Licence Syria Sanctions - earthquake relief efforts in Syria

Introduction
The Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) has published a General Licence for the purposes of facilitating humanitarian assistance in relation to earthquake relief efforts in Syria and Turkey.
The General Licence permits the acquisition, supply or delivery of petroleum products and provision of related financial services or funds under regulations 37(1), 38(1) and 40(1)(b) and (c) of The Syria (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.

Subject to being able to comply with the conditions of the licence, any person seeking to rely on the licence must register online via SPIRE within 30 days of their first use of the licence.
Licence period
The licence comes into force on 15 February 2023 and expires on 31 August 2023.
