NTE 2023/16 : new General Trade Licence Russia Sanctions – Legal Advisory Services

Introduction
The Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) has published a General Licence for the provision of certain legal advisory services.
The General Licence permits the direct or indirect provision of legal advisory services in relation to compliance with certain laws or measures, including restrictive measures on or concerning Russia, otherwise prohibited by Regulation 54D of The Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.

Subject to being able to comply with the conditions of the licence, any person seeking to rely on the licence must register online via SPIRE within 30 days of their first use of the licence.
To register on SPIRE you will be asked to provide an Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number. An EORI number is not required to use this general licence. If you have an EORI number, you should enter it. If you do not have an EORI number, please enter 12 zeros i.e. 000000000000 as the EORI number, to continue with the registration process.
