Data Requirements for the Transit Accompanying Document
Interpretation
In this annex:
- authorised consignor
- business continuity procedure
- incidents
- Master Reference Number (MRN)
- Transit Accompanying Document (TAD)
have the same meaning as in Schedule 1 to the Customs Transit Procedures (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 (S.I. 2018/1258) (CTPEER).
Convention on a Common Transit Procedure is the Convention done at Interlaken on 20 May 1987 on a common transit procedure.
Customs office of departure:
- has the meaning provided in paragraph 2(7) of Schedule 1 to CTPEER for Common Transit Procedures that start outside Great Britain
- is the ‘HMRC office of departure’ referred to in paragraph 19 of Schedule 1 to CTPEER for Common Transit Procedures that start in Great Britain
Data Requirements
The transit accompanying document, must contain the data set out:
1.MRN
- the MRN of the declaration of goods must be printed on the first page and on all lists of items
- the ‘MRN’ shall also be printed in bar code mode using the standard ‘code 128’, character set ‘B’
- these requirements in relation to the MRN of the declaration of goods do not apply where the business continuity procedure (link to Annex E) applies
2.Forms
- first subdivision — serial number of the current printed sheet
- second subdivision — total number of sheets printed (including list of items)
- shall not be used when there is only one item
3.Customs office to which a copy of TAD has to be returned where the business continuity procedure (link to Annex E) applies.
4.Office of departure
- the name of the customs office of departure
- reference number of the customs office of departure
- acceptance date of the declaration for the Common Transit Procedure
- the name and the authorisation number of the authorised consignor (if any)
5.Control by customs office of departure
- control results
- seals affixed or the indication ‘- -’ identifying the ‘Waiver — 99201’
- the indication ‘Prescribed itinerary’, where appropriate
6.Incidents during transport
- other changes
- transhipment
- where goods have been loaded on a semi-trailer and the tractor is changed during the journey (without the goods being handled or transhipped), enter in this box the registration number and nationality of the new tractor. In this case, endorsement by the competent customs authorities is not necessary
