Details
Public Health England (PHE) is responsible for managing 2 epidemiological databases owned by the NDA. The data can be used in research studies to investigate, if appropriate, potential health effects of radiation in current and former employees of UK civil nuclear sites.
The NDA radiation epidemiology programme is overseen by a governance group with an independent chair and currently made up of representatives from unions (GMB, Prospect and Unite), the NDA, Sellafield Ltd and PHE. The NDA continues to fund both management of the epidemiology programme and relevant research.
