The United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Japan and France reiterated their intention to work together to build resilient allied supply chains for nuclear fuel to reduce reliance on Russia.

In the statement announced at the Net Zero Nuclear Summit in the margins of COP28, the 5 countries announced an intention to invest at least $4.2 billion in collective enrichment and conversion capacity across the 5 countries over the next 3 years.
It builds on the initial pledge, announced in April 2023 in the margins of the G7 in Japan, aimed at displacing Putin from the international nuclear energy market.
