Request
I would like a data set for the number of people that have passed their driving test each year (either as a total for all vehicle licence types or broken down by type). I would like data for at least the last thirty years and, if possible, a full data set since records began.
Response
Information about practical tests since the 2007/08 financial year can be found in table DRT0101. This information is therefore exempt from release under section 21 (information accessible by other means) of FoIA. A copy of this exemption in full is attached at Annex A.
Prior to the 2007/08 financial year, some records are held and details of these are provided at Annex B.
Historic information from 1935. Again, this information is exempt from release under section 21 (information accessible by other means of FoIA).
