This report assesses the impact of 3 grant schemes run by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) from their initiation to the end of 2021.

The schemes covered are:

  • plug-in vehicle grants for cars and vans
  • the electric vehicle homecharge scheme (EVHS)
  • the workplace charging scheme (WCS)

The evaluation considered to what extent the grants had an impact on:

  • demand for new electric vehicles and chargepoint infrastructure
  • manufacturing and the supply of electric vehicles and related infrastructure
  • wider environmental benefits
