This guidance relates to the information in the Section 95 and Schedule 16 of the Energy Act 2004 and the Electricity (Offshore Generating Stations) (Safety Zones) (Applications Procedures and Control of Access) Regulations 2007 (SI No 2007/1948) introduced in August 2007.

It details the scope of the Safety Zone Scheme, the categories of installation it includes, the processes to be followed in applying for a safety zone, and the information required for the application. It also provides information on the relevant regulatory authorities to which applications must be made.
