Welcome, apologies and declarations of interest
The chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. No declarations were made.
Minutes, matters arising, action log and forward look
The minutes of 24 February board meeting were agreed as a correct record.
Executive updates
The strategy was published on 26 April and has been positively received internally and externally. Board members were thanked for their work on the strategic priorities, scrutiny, and challenge. The next step will be implementation of the strategy and a dashboard to monitor progress will be presented at future board meetings.
We are back to business-as-usual inspection and regulatory work across all our remits.
We are fully engaged with DfE on the Schools White Paper, and the SEND Green Paper and we have been raising a number of concerns with the relevant Secretaries of State and Ministers regarding the detention of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in various hotels.
