The Environment Agency has received an application to vary (change) an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Wheeldon Brothers Waste Limited.
The proposed variation may significantly increase the risk from waste operations.

1.16.6 The site operates as a household, commercial and industrial (HCI) waste transfer station with physical treatment of non-hazardous waste. The permit application is for a normal variation to extend the site boundary to encompass the additional land to the north-east of their site, which historically operated as a scrap metal yard and later as a transfer station. Also, they want to increase their waste throughput from 28,000 tonnes to 100,000 tonnes per year.
