This Animal Welfare Committee (AWC) opinion considers the welfare implications of castration and tail docking of lambs. The Farm Animal Welfare Committee (the predecessor to the Animal Welfare Committee) previously considered these issues in their 1994 and 2008 reports. The opinion makes recommendations for improvement. This AWC opinion was sent to the government on 27 December 2022.
