These guides are for education professionals including practitioners and system leaders with an interest in the these themes. They are the views of senior stakeholders, project leads, practitioners and professional beneficiaries. The themes covered include:

- case study examples that exemplify key points
The school improvement guide provides insights from 5 projects across the opportunity areas. These include:
- professional development to improve reading, writing, phonics and maths
- evidence-based interventions in English, maths and science to support with transitions between key stages
- mastery approaches in maths to improve teaching and learning
- implementation of a school-to-school support programme
