Last updated 18 March 2025
  1. This updates an error in the information about the new column header: it should read 'organisation_size' not 'Organisation size'.

  2. This adds information about the new 'organisation size' column for 2025 registration. Separate guidance on registration has also been published so this update removes overlapping content.

  3. This adds some information about the file verification that now takes place when you upload a file. It also updates dates and deadlines for 2024 and 2025.

  4. This update clarifies an issue around the service of notice address: it should only be given where it differs from the registered address.

  5. This update adds more detail about what turnover and total tonnage mean, as well as disambiguating between 'primary and secondary packaging' and 'primary and secondary packaging activities'.

  6. The organisation type code, organisation_type_code in section 8 (H), is required for 1 October 2023 and 1 April 2024.

  7. This update adds some additional information about how to report as a group with subsidiaries. It also adds some details on formatting your organisation ID and Companies House number

  8. Added full dates of period for sending update: between 1 January 2024 and 1 April 2024. In HTML publication: 1) spelled out both reporting dates in full ('You must report some information by 1 October 2023 and by 1 April 2024'), to avoid confusion. 2) clarified that large producers can submit the organisational data file between 1 January 2024 and 1 April 2024.

  9. Adding new reporting period deadline 1 April 2024 throughout (both in the intro page and the HTML doc), and information about non-enforcement until 31 May 2024.

  10. This update adds links to the 'report packaging data' service, which has just gone live.

  11. First published.
