This revised PACE Code A has effect from 19 March 2015 following a statutory consultation.

It covers police powers to stop and search persons and vehicles and the requirements for officers to make a record of a stop or encounter.

You can also read the order bringing the code into force and the explanatory memorandum describing the changes.

It was superseded by PACE Code A 2023 on 17 January 2023.
