This memorandum identifies the provisions in the Pension Bill which confer power to make delegated legislation. It explains:

  • the purpose of the delegated power proposed
  • why the matter is to be dealt with in delegated legislation
  • the nature and justification for any parliamentary procedures that are proposed

This updates the delegated powers memorandum published in May 2013.

We published a supplementary memorandum relating to government amendments to the Pensions Bill in December 2013.
