Details

National Statistics on the UK’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are published annually. Every year, we apply methodological improvements to the way those emissions are estimated.

This note sets out the main methodology changes that we are planning to make when estimating emissions from 1990 to 2022, and their estimated impact on emissions compared to the method used previously. It also describes a change we are making this year to the sectors we group emissions into in the statistics.
