Details

This command paper sets out how the UK government and devolved governments propose to work together on:

  • the intellectual property rights of plant breeders
  • plant variety registration
  • setting standards for marketing and certification of seed (and other plant propagating material) and ensuring that these standards are upheld

The provisional common framework has received ministerial approval from all 4 governments. It was laid in the UK Parliament to enable parliamentary scrutiny to begin.
