UK Visas and Immigration guidance for staff explaining when sponsors are required to apply for a basic compliance assessment under Tier 4 of the points-based system (PBS) and what happens if a sponsor fails to apply.

The guidance covers some of the following:

  • fees

  • qualifying checks

  • core requirements that need to be met

  • passing or failing a basic compliance assessment

  • requesting a visit from the sponsorship compliance network

  • renewal of Tier 4 sponsor status

  • when a sponsor must be removed or a Tier 4 license revoked

  • management checks

  • ‘in-year’ and ‘follow on’ requests
