Police funding: special grant guidance
Guidance for police and crime commissioners applying for special grant funding.
Documents
Details
Police and crime commissioners can apply to the Home Office for special grant funding to meet additional costs that would be incurred from policing unexpected and exceptional events within their areas.
The guidance outlines the process for applying, and lists the information that should be included in the application before the bid is assessed by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Service (HMICFRS). This includes HMICFRS’s criteria and terms of reference. The 2014 to 2015 special grant budget was financed from non-police budgets. The 2015 to 2016 special grant budget has been reallocated from the police main grant.
