Details

This code of practice has been developed by the College of Policing to replace the Management of Police Information (MoPI) Code (2005).

In accordance with her responsibilities under Section 39A of the Police Act 1996, the Home Secretary has authorised the code of practice to be laid in Parliament.

It sets national standards for information management and record keeping across policing, broadening its scope beyond records containing police information to include police corporate governance records.
