Details

This code has been developed by the College of Policing.

It sets out what is required of chief officers to ensure consistent and high standards of police vetting and aims to support effective decision making on who can and cannot work within policing.

In accordance with her responsibilities under Section 39A of the Police Act 1996, the Home Secretary has authorised the code of practice to be laid in Parliament.
