This policy paper explains the UK Government’s announcement on what would happen to citizens’ rights in the event of the UK leaving the EU without a deal, both for EU citizens in the UK and UK nationals in the EU.

Updated to reflect that the UK will not leave the EU on 29 March 2019 and to clarify that the family reunion policy applies to EU citizens with pre-settled and settled status.
