Post-16 education: highest level of achievement by age 25

Details

This research uses ‘Longitudinal education outcomes’ (LEO) data, which compares students’ level of education to their level of employment and earnings in later life. It includes information from:

  • the Department for Education (DfE)
  • the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
  • Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC)

It looks at a group of people who took their GCSEs in 2004 to 2005. It describes their:

  • educational achievement at GCSE
  • educational achievement by ages 18, 23 and 25
  • achievements in the labour market in the 2016 to 2017 tax year

We will continue to develop the data, so the methods and results are likely to change over time.
