This report provides an estimate of post-16 maths participation for state-funded pupils at the end of key stage 4 (KS4) in 2018 to 2019.

Details

This release contains an estimate of the proportion of pupils that are not studying a maths qualification at post-16.

These figures are mostly derived from other publicly available statistical releases from the Department for Education (DfE), including:

  • A level and AS entries
  • KS4 attainment data
  • previously unpublished entries for core maths

The methodology does not include:

  • pupils studying qualifications in other subjects with maths elements
  • those studying maths through vocational and technical qualifications (VTQs), free standing maths qualifications (FSMQs) or the International Baccalaureate
