Details

Tower Hamlets, Slough and Peterborough will be piloting measures to improve the integrity of the postal and proxy vote process.

The pilots are part of the government’s commitment to enhance measures to protect the integrity of the postal and proxy vote process and improve the elections process so that our elections are fit for the future.

To enable the pilots to go ahead, Pilot Scheme Orders must be made to change the current conduct rules for running local elections. An Order has been made for each piloting authority by the Minister for the Constitution which are published here. Each Order makes the necessary changes to the conduct rules to accommodate each local authorities’ individual pilot scheme.
