Centenary of the Battle of the Somme

The Centenary of the Battle of the Somme is on 1 July 2016. A national commemorative event will be held at 12:00 (11:00 UK time) at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Thiepval Memorial in Northern France.

The event will be led by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, on behalf of the UK Government, and the French Mission du Centenaire de la Premiere Guerre mondiale, on behalf of the French Government, in partnership with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and The Royal British Legion.

On this page are the following documents:

  • Postal Ballot Registration Form - please complete the registration form as carefully and clearly as you can, using black ink and block capitals.

The registration form must be returned in time for it to be received before the closing date of 18 November 2016. No entries received after this date will be accepted.
