Powers of Entry Review: Final Report

Details

Under section 42 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 each minister must review powers of entry and relevant associated powers and consider if they are still needed. If they are still required, the powers should be reviewed to see if they can be consolidated with other similar powers and/or have safeguards added.

Each minister is required to prepare a report of that review and lay a copy of the report before Parliament.

This report outlines the outcome of Defra’s review. All of the powers for which Defra is responsible, that were in scope of the review, have been considered and are included in this report.
