Every school has the potential to generate its own renewable energy. This leaflet explains the benefits and energy savings that can be made through solar PV. It provides a checklist and practical information on finance, installation and where to go for further advice.

Letter from Amber Rudd to Local Authorities

Solar PV has been increasingly installed in a range of contexts, from domestic properties to large-scale, grid-connected facilities, including over half a million homes and companies as diverse as Sainsbury’s and Bentley. Government is keen to see schools benefiting in the same way.

This letter from Climate Change Minister, Amber Rudd to local authorites draws attention to the benefits of solar PV on schools, enabling them to save money on energy, generate revenue, reduce CO2 emissions, and provide educational benefits, while providing inspiration to the community.
