Details of the application
The Environment Agency has received a substantial variation application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Cuadrilla Bowland Limited.
This application is to include the option to discharge uncontaminated surface water into a local watercourse. Currently surface water is collected from the sealed operational area by a drainage ditch. This water is then tankered to an offsite waste water treatment facility. The proposed permit variation is to install a treatment plant on site at Preston New Road, and discharge collected surface water to Carr Bridge Brook.
