This policy framework is an updated amalgamation of PSI 2015/26 Security of Prisoners at Court and PSI 2015/33 External Prisoner Movement. It includes mandatory actions, guidance and additional information and learning on why escapes occur and how to prevent them. This policy formalises current practices, includes an updated risk assessment and provides supporting tools such as instructional videos to support staff in maintaining safety and security whist conducting external escorts and bedwatches.
