The government has announced that it will no longer use PF2, the current model of Private Finance Initiative (PFI) for new government projects. Existing PFI and PF2 contracts will not end because of this announcement.
We collect summary data on Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and Private Finance 2 (PF2) projects every year. The information is provided by the departments and devolved administrations that procured or sponsored the projects, and is not audited by HM Treasury. The last full data collection was published for projects as of 31 March 2016.
