This document assesses the impact of new national curriculum programmes of study for English and mathematics for pupils at key stage 4 (KS4).

It considers whether and how the proposed changes to the programmes of study may impact - positively or negatively - in relation to pupils or students in relevant protected characteristics groups.

The relevant protected characteristics are:

  • disability
  • gender reassignment
  • pregnancy and maternity
  • race
  • religion or belief
  • sex
  • sexual orientation
