Proposed changes to the CSA quarterly summary of statistics: statistical notice
Updated 22 November 2017
Consultation outcome
As a result of this consultation, we will publish 2 further data tables in addition to the 5 originally listed in this statistical notice.
This means the 7 data tables now reported in the quarterly summary of statistics are:
- caseload by scheme
- children benefiting from maintenance
- caseload status
- maintenance collected and arranged
- outstanding maintenance arrears
- arrears distribution by arrears caseload and value of arrears
- arrears segmentation
Background
This statistical notice invites users to provide comments on proposed changes to what tables are produced for the Child Support Agency (CSA) quarterly summary of statistics on the 1993 and 2003 schemes.
The majority of CSA cases have now been closed or have begun the Case Closure process. This means the level of detail and breakdowns that remains useful to be reported is diminishing.
After the Case Closure process has completed, we plan to discontinue this publication.
We expect the last publication will be in February 2019.
The proposals are to retain the following tables:
- table 1: caseload by scheme
- table 8: children benefiting from maintenance (totals only)
- table 15: outstanding maintenance arrears
- table 19: arrears distribution
- table 21: arrears segmentation
All other tables will be dropped.
We propose to implement these changes for the next release of statistics, due to be published on 22 November 2017.
