  1. The list has been updated to include alternative names for 3 proscribed groups: Babbar Khalsa (BK), Al Ghurabaa and Lashkar e Tayyaba (LT).

  2. Link to the UK Sanctions List updated.

  3. Heading changed from 'List of proscribed international terrorist groups' to 'List of proscribed terrorist groups', to reflect the fact that the groups listed aren't all international.

  4. Updated to reflect that Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) is no longer to be treated as an alternative name for Al Qa’ida.

This document lists the extremist groups or organisations banned under UK law, and provides the criteria that are considered when deciding whether or not to proscribe a group or organisation.
