This guide details information regarding changes to the MCA Advanced Sea Survival Course. This course has now been renamed Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (Other than fast rescue boats) (PSC&RB) (Restricted) issued under Regulation VI/2 of STCW 1978 as amended.

The guide clarifies the training for PSC&RB (Restricted) that is required for Deck and Engineer Officers serving on Yachts that are not equipped with lifeboats. The guide also provides further information regarding the updating of Advanced Sea Survival and PSCR&RB (Restricted) certificates.
