The Public Data Group (PDG) brings together 4 public sector bodies - Companies House, Land Registry, Met Office and Ordnance Survey - that collect, refine, manage and distribute data on the nation’s companies, property, weather and geography.

This document provides a description of the kind of data these organisations already make available, and sets out PDG’s commitments to future Open Data releases and activity. It contains:

  • background information on the members of the group
  • an explanation of why some data is free and some data is charged for
  • information on the open data PDG makes available and the formats it is provided in
  • information on the activities PDG carry out to support use of their data
