An overview of the work that PHE conducts with animals - including our commitment to being more transparent and only using animals when there is no other viable option.
It is accompanied by the Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body (AWERB) terms of reference which set out a summary of the process used by each of the 3 Home Office registered establishments to assess project proposals, and to maintain the highest possible standards of practice in their research and facilities.
