These guidelines present the rationale and recommendations for the control of toxigenic Corynebacterium ulcerans (C. ulcerans) in companion animals in England. They cover the investigations necessary to confirm the presence of toxigenic C. ulcerans in animals, how these animals should be managed, and the management of close human and animal contacts of a confirmed animal case.
