The Parole Board Chair refused an application for Colin Pitchfork’s parole hearing to be made public in March 2023. Given the new developments regarding reconsideration applications in the case, the Parole Board Chair then decided in May 2024 that the hearing should be made public. However, following new material being disclosed to parties, the panel chair decided in July 2024 that the hearing should revert to being a private one. Please find attached the decisions outlining the reasons for this.
The oral hearings are now provisionally listed on 10 October and 14/15 November 2024.
