Details
This report presents the findings from public polling conducted by Ipsos UK for the Home Office. This research explored:
- perceptions of community safety issues
- the role of local agencies in this space
- levels of public engagement with these issues
The research found that crime and anti-social behaviour are the issues of greatest concern. Confidence in how community safety issues are being dealt with is low, both at a local level and across England and Wales, and most of the public think the police or local council are responsible for dealing with these issues. Few are currently engaged with local community safety, though there is appetite to be consulted and kept informed on how these issues are tackled locally.
